Buyers of the 2023 GV60 electric SUV will receive 3 years of 30-minute complimentary charging sessions on the Electrify America public charging network. Radio frequency technology company Qorvo (formerly UnitedSiC) has announced a new SiC Field Effect Transistor (FET) product line, which it says has best-in-class figures of merit for on-resistance. The FET is designed for the 800 V bus architectures in the onboard chargers of EVs as well as industrial battery chargers, industrial power supplies, DC/DC solar inverters, welding machines, uninterruptible power supplies and induction heating applications. New research looks at the economics of aluminum for EVs

Research commissioned and funded by The Aluminum Association’s Aluminum Transportation Group has studied the content and economics of aluminum in EVs. Solar EV company Lightyear says the EV powertrain it has co-developed with in-wheel-drive technology company Elaphe is the most efficient production EV powertrain in the world. InoBat and Green Lithium to establish large-scale lithium refinery in the UK

Battery supplier InoBat Auto and mineral processing firm Green Lithium have formed a strategic partnership to build and operate a large-scale lithium refinery in the UK. Colorado provides $65 million for electric school bus grants

Governor Jared Polis of Colorado has signed SB 193 into law, providing $65 million for an electric school bus grant program. The state will award funding to school districts to help finance, purchase and maintain electric school buses, and to install charging infrastructure. New federal funding for electric school buses is available from the EPA’s Clean School Bus Program, part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. By dedicating state funding for electric school buses, SB 193 will help maximize federal resources in Colorado.
