Keliber to use government grant to manage analcime sand lithium by-product

Finnish mining and battery chemical company Keliber Technology has been granted up to €7 million [$7.9 million] in funding from Business Finland, some of which will be used for equipment to manage the analcime sand by-product of its planned lithium plant at Kokkola Industrial Park. Keliber plans to use the plant’s side stream of analcime sand in extension work at the Port of Kokkola and says “a valid environmental permit is a precondition for the funding.”

Business Finland is a Finnish government organization that promotes innovation and funding for Finland. The funding it awarded Keliber is from its Smart Mobility and Batteries from Finland program.
